Intelligent Water and Wastewater Management – ZW Automation at the Conference in Wieliczka
On 23–24 April 2026, our Technical Director, Sebastian Rakoczy, and Automation Engineer, Adam Maliszewski, participated in the water and sewage industry conference in Wieliczka. The event, focused on the digital transformation, allowed us to update our expertise with the latest solutions in the field of network digital twins, advanced metering instrumentation, and wastewater treatment process optimisation systems.
Intelligent Water and Wastewater Management: From Theory to Innovative Projects
Participation in panels led by market leaders – KROHNE, Wilo Group, and Hach Lange – gave us the opportunity to validate our engineering assumptions in the context of new EU directives. We focused on solutions that tangibly increase the efficiency of our clients’ systems. We followed with particular attention the information on modern methods of balancing water supply networks and control systems that automatically adapt to varying wastewater parameters.
“For us, technology is a tool for solving real operational problems. In Wieliczka, we saw that intelligent water and wastewater management is no longer just a vision, but concrete devices such as Waterflux and RTC systems, capable of self-optimising processes” – emphasises Sebastian Rakoczy, Technical Director of ZW Automation.
New Horizons: Network Monitoring and Digital Twins
During the two-day proceedings, we analysed how Digital Twins are revolutionising the approach to 24/7 monitoring and how this trend shows no signs of weakening. Through integration with SCADA systems and precise minimum flow measurements, we are able to design systems of the highest accuracy class, resilient to climate change and rigorous audits.
A conference is not only about content – it is also about people. Networking in the unique setting of the Wieliczka Salt Mine allowed us to exchange experience with network operators and experts from the NFOŚiGW. Intelligent water and wastewater management requires courage in engineering design – and we translate that courage into efficient and safe installations.
